Hellooooooooo Chicago!

I haven't quite finished the booth setup yet, but promise to take pictures. The plan: I'm creating an eight foot long winter wonderland scene, complete with leafy trees, reindeer, snow people, penguins galore, picketing Santas and Rabbis, and other martini-imbibing beasts.

Are you nearby? Will you come say hi? I am in booth 8-2015 and can't wait to meet some of my old and new customers! Show starts at noon today and runs through Sunday afternoon. See you there! Click here for more info. I'm holding court in the Etsy Pavillion where they have some excellent props to fancy up their section like a white faux polar bear rug, a freestanding cardboard fireplace, etc. They also will have all kinds of fun crafty things to do and every purchase you make at one of the 30 booths in this section gives you a chance to win a gift certificate and other amazing raffle prizes!

feeling clever today?

My birthday gator was included in a fun Etsy treasury this morning--all twelve items refer to a fairy tale or fable. Click here to try your hand at this guessing game--but don't peek at the comments until you're ready to see the answers! Note: this treasury will expire in a few days

Hello Beautiful Person! Inspired by a recent bike tour of chicken coops around North/Northeast Portland, I decided to make a chicken for my Etsy store. If you're feeling like a spring chicken today, you'll be the first to grab it!

What did I ever do without Etsy?
So....now I can tell you my little secret I've been keeping for the past month--Etsy interviewed me for their featured seller series, which finally released to the public yesterday. It's been an amazing day already, with emails from old friends, new fans, convos about special orders in the works, and a few people willing to settle for the things I already designed. Thanks Etsy! Click here to read my interview or here to visit my shop--I have been designing a ton of new work in anticipation of the home page feature. Stay tuned--I have several custom projects that I've been meaning to share with you...

the butts have it!

I always feel flattered when someone includes my work in their Etsy Treasury. If you don't know what an Etsy Treasury is, it's when someone puts together a collection of 12 things on a theme and displays them on one page. Sometimes those treasuries are chosen to be featured on the front page of Etsy, which many consider to be an honor.
Well today I got included in the most unusual theme ever, called "Does This Make My Butt Look Big?" One of my protesting Santas was chosen, and it's really interesting to see the way that the theme of butts was interpreted. Case in point, some things are plays on the catchphrase used in the description of the treasury, like this one that says "Does this Scarf Make my Butt Look Big?" Another submission is handmade goat milk soap, a more indirect connection, but I think it works.
