Limerick Contest Winners!

Thank you to everyone who entered my limerick contest! Here's the winners.....drum roll please......

Third prize of $100 in my Etsy shop goes to Juliane for her ditty about my goat cake toppers!

For the wedding of the goat and the goat
They did not ask for a single bank note
They didn't want any goodies
Not even bedsheets or hoodies
All they wished for was Martha Stewart's vote

Second Prize (also for $100 from Bunny with a Toolbelt's Etsy shop goes to Donna for this one that cracked me up:

There once was a girl and with wood
created what few of us could
she ‘Martha’ed’ with paint,
she ‘Martha-ed’ with glue
the only thing left is to be ‘Martha’ed’ by you!

And our first prize winner ($250 of Bunny goods!!!) is Janet. (I'm a sucker for the saw reference.)

“Every tree has a story,” she said,

as carved animals formed in her head.
What’s more “American Made”
than a girl with saw blades?
Martha, help her dreams be more widespread.

Thank you again to everyone who entered--this was a lot of fun! I'm still waiting to hear the contest winners, but you made me smile along the way.

Sunday

Limerick #20!

Working with wood with past lives,
She whistles for animals to arrive
With whimsical clout
The zebras all shout,
"Martha, you should give her a high five!"

Here's another one from Käthe!

The sheep and the fox never battle
But the penguins and poodles they tattle
She breathes life into old wood
Giraffes stand proud on baked goods
And say, "Martha, tell those others to skedaddle!"

Her zebras sit top of the cakes
Elephants kiss well all the aches
Love bugs fly over seas
Buzzing "Please pick her please!
Hilary is a genius, for darn sakes."

than Martha’s Living when it gets to my store
unless its a tree
that Bunny made me
and to see them together -
well, SCORE!

A zebra with cake? well, who knew?
It’s a thing you don’t see at the zoo.
If Martha picked it we’d see
that our minds could be free
to imagine all things could be true

There once was a bird from Nantucket,
a black-beaked magpie with a nut it
wanted Martha to share
with her friends everywhere

but began to despair and said “F.........ind as many people as you can and ask them to vote up to six times per day every day until October 13 for Bunny With A Toolbelt at http://www.marthastewart.com/americanmade/nominee/87921/crafts/bunny-with-a-toolbelt!”

There once was a kitty called Cloud
who had a tail tail that made him quite proud.
His body of blue
with splotches of no hue,
contrasted with the stripes colored quite loud

Limerick #3

Hey Martha, could I bend your ear
'bout a bunny who makes things quite dear
out of recycled wood
for the earth it's quite good
just like a cold IPA beer.

Don't forget to vote for me today in the Martha Stewart American Made Awards!

and here's the rules for the limerick contest too.

Tuesday

first entry! and second entry! the contest is alive!

Hurrah! We have two entries to the limerick contest! I'm posting all entries here, but want to remind everyone of the first rule of the contest, which is to write a limerick to Martha Stewart to convince her to pick me for her American Made Award!  Still, I love a good limerick and these are too good not to post.  Thanks Vicki!!

There once was a bird on a twig
who stood there as if she were big
but she wasn't at all
she was really quite small
although she could eat like a pig!

Puss had a heart and a ring
tied to her tail with a string
she brought tears of laughter
to all who came after
and taught them all how to sing!

Monday

Woohoo! It's time for a limerick contest!!!!

THE BUNNY WITH A TOOLBELT LIMERICK CONTEST (AKA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PICK ME MARTHA!)

1. Your limerick MUST be on the topic of convincing Martha Stewart to pick me for a winner in her American Made contest.

2. I strongly suggest you choose an item from my Etsy shop to use as your muse--that way I can illustrate your entry with a nice photo.

3. Must follow traditional limerick form, as in the Edward Lear example above, or see this link on how to write a limerick.

4. I know it's traditional to be bawdy, but these limericks must employ clean language and activities. The point is to make Martha laugh and think I'm cool (and me too if you want to WIN!)

5.  You can enter up to six different limericks per day. Send them to me at bunnywithatoolbelt@gmail.com by midnight PST on October 13th, 2014, so I can publish them all before the voting period at Martha Stewart HQ runs out.

6.  Vote vote vote vote vote vote every day for me! Click here and employ whatever you need to remember that you can vote six times daily! Let's show Martha what Bunny with a Toolbelt fans are made of!

7.  Top winner will get $250 to spend in the Bunny with a Toolbelt Etsy shop and two more runners up will each receive $100 to spend in the very same shop!

8.  Woohooooo! I'm already a finalist. Can you help make me a winner? If so, I think that makes us ALL winners!  Woohoooooooo!

Thursday

I'm famous in Japan.....er....Hong Kong!

Nice video showing my deck and another very cool one that I just ordered on Amazon! You know where to get mine by now, right?

Saturday

Meanwhile, down on the farm.....

I've gotten some great commissions this year - the first is a llama bride and groom with all the markings from the couple's actual pets!

And here's a custom goat set. The little pink one is to represent the couple's child.  These are made in the style of Alpine Goats.  The groom has a toolbelt on.....be still my beating heart.....

Tuesday

Playing Card original work at Oregon College of Art and Craft!

Hey Beautiful People! I am showing original work from last year's playing card deck at Oregon College of Art and Craft this month! The show runs through the month of April. Decks and uncut sheets are also available, as well as a new batch of King and Queen of Hearts animals featuring animals found in the deck! Here's a sneak preview of some of my favorites.

Friday

Color naming contest winners!

Here's the final names for my color chart. Thanks to everyone who entered!

Saturday

Help me name these colors and win BIG!!!

Hey Beautiful Person!

There's a brand new contest afoot!  For years I've been wanting to come up with my own color chart with names that express the playfulness and humor that is Bunny with a Toolbelt. I decided it would be much more fun to do it as a contest. As you see here, I have 46 colors I most often use for custom cake toppers, pets, etc.  You can enter your suggested names up until midnight PST on March 1st, 2014 and for each one I choose, you get $10 towards any item in my Etsy shop! Download the chart by clicking here!  Multiple entries are definitely allowed, so you could rack up a pretty penny if you're good at this! For multiple suggestions of the same name, if I choose that name, I'll give the credit to the first suggested, so I encourage you to enter early and often! You can send your brilliant entries to me at bunnywithatoolbelt@gmail.com or enter on the Bunny with a Toolbelt Facebook page!

Okay....that's it for now! Looking forward to seeing your color-savvy minds at work!
